Our Story
In The Flats was founded over lifetime love for fishing. Being taken fishing at a young age opened the door to a passion for angling. We believe the best memories are spent on the water with a rod and reel in hand.
We focus on inshore fishing in the Sarasota flats, mangroves, and the bay. We rise early to chase the inshore species that drive our passion, our travel is quiet and allows us to connect to the pulse of the bay. Pedal kayaks get us to skinny water, tight to mangroves, and under low bridges that may not be accessible otherwise.

Do I need to have experience?
Not at all, but it helps. Going with a guide can be a learning experience for someone new, or a challenge for an experienced angler. Being efficient in a kayak takes practice, and time. We gear each fishing tour towards the individual to make sure we are maximizing our fishing time, while in line with your experience. The more experience an individual has the more we can narrow our focus and try different locations and techniques.
Will I catch the fish of a lifetime?
We hope so! It is called fishing for a reason, and we will do our part to help you be as successful as possible. There are no promises of personal bests, but no matter what we catch from a kayak it is a unique and exciting experience!
Do we need our own equipment?
No, we supply everything. We have comfortably equipped fishing specific kayaks, and quality rods and reels for you to use. The only thing we need you to have a valid Florida fishing license.

Should we bring anything?
We recommend bringing sun protection, fluid, snacks, and your favorite fishing shirt.
